Proverbs 24:3,4 " By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established. And by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches."
The call came to me on Tuesday evening; "Kyle, the funeral scheduled for you next week is now covered, but can you do a house blessing?" My reply, "Sure, what's the date?", thinking it down the line in September or October.
"Thursday evening."
Waves of anxiety swept over me. "Uh, O......kay!" I had not prepared a house-blessing primer or ceremonial schedule... okay, I CAN do ALL things through CHRIST, who strengthens me!" Right, Jesus? Hello?
I talked to one of the seasoned extension pastors on staff in the cafe in our building, and he gave me the most encouraging and heartfelt advice I received; "You on your own, brah. Go get um tigah." Gee, thanks a bunch! LOL
The LORD spoke to me in that still and small voice in the back of my heart, "Kyle, you did these before on Molokai. What's any different being on Oahu? Do MY work, your way. From your heart."
Long story short, I am so grateful to be privileged to do HIS work, Molokai style, from my heart, and bless not just a house, but a home and it's HOUSEHOLD, four generations worth. It was a wonderful drive back home. God is good. TYJ.
